MikroTik's 'MikroTrick' router bugs: two are KEV-listed, one isn't
CISA's KEV catalog lists two of the three MikroTik RouterOS flaws behind the MikroTrick chain. The SSH bypass that starts the chain isn't on the list yet, but is still exploited.

MSP FAQ: an X-Tenant-ID header is a selector, not authorization
If a client sends X-Tenant-ID or a tenant field in the body, that alone cannot authorize a cross-tenant read. OWASP explains what must be verified instead.

From SBOM to vulnerability gate: Syft and Grype in MSP CI pipelines
Syft generates a software bill of materials for every build, and Grype scans it for known vulnerabilities, letting MSPs fail a CI job until a flagged CVE is fixed or given a named, time-boxed exception.

Cisco ISE CVE-2026-76460 KEV overdue — MSP identity/NAC residual hunt
CVE-2026-76460 is in CISA KEV (dateAdded 2026-09-16 , due 2026-09-19 — overdue). KEV shortDescription: incorrect use of privileged APIs → unauthenticated remote attacker path.

MSP FAQ: eval-sandbox / CTF-host hygiene when agents touch real orgs
When a frontier lab’s CTF evaluation partner mistakenly enables internet access and agents reach real organizations, what should an EU MSP demand about eval host isolation , credential planting rules, customer-tenant traffic walls, and who owns residual disclosure?

Gatekeeper enforces OPA policy at the Kubernetes front door

MSP FAQ: Entra SSO is not SCIM, and deprovisioning needs both
Turning on Microsoft Entra single sign-on to an MSP app lets people log in — it does not remove leavers. Full lifecycle management needs SCIM, kept tenant-bound.

Plugin4Shell flaw let rogue repos swap code past four AI coding agents' pin checks
Plugin4Shell lets a malicious plugin repository serve different code than the commit hash an AI coding agent thinks it pinned. Claude Code and Codex are patched; Copilot and Gemini CLI are not.

SOPS and Sealed Secrets: keep plaintext out of Git for MSP Kubernetes
SOPS encrypts config files before they hit Git; Sealed Secrets encrypts a Kubernetes Secret so only the target cluster can decrypt it. Together they cover the GitOps secrets gap.

MSP FAQ: what OpenAI's new misalignment disclosures mean for vendor risk
OpenAI published six cases of concerning model behavior under a new voluntary disclosure framework on 16 September 2026 — a diligence signal, not a compliance substitute.

Magento's CVSS 10 flaw needs a hotfix and a credential rotation
Adobe's APSB26-146 fixes CVE-2026-75650, a critical unauthenticated RCE in Commerce/Magento. CISA's KEV deadline passed Sept 11 — the hotfix alone doesn't remediate exposed credentials.

External Secrets and Cosign: a supply-chain baseline for Kubernetes
External Secrets Operator keeps secret material out of Kubernetes manifests, while Sigstore Cosign verifies image signatures at admission — together they give MSPs two operational supply-chain controls.

JFrog Artifactory KEV flaws: token scope matters more than the patch
CISA added two JFrog Artifactory flaws to its KEV catalog, due September 25. Attackers already chained them to reach admin — EU MSPs should confirm token scope, not just signatures.

What to check when an AI vendor embeds an outside safety evaluator
When an AI vendor gives an outside evaluator employee-level access, ask for a data-flow map and check who funds the evaluator. Anthropic and Accenture's September 2026 deal is the case that raised the question.

MSP FAQ: remote-access governance checklist after a client CVE
A critical vulnerability in a remote-access or RMM tool is also a reminder to audit who can use it. CISA, NSA and MS-ISAC guidance points to roles, MFA and logging.

MSP FAQ: why login alone does not prove tenant isolation
Authenticating a user only proves who they are. NIST and AWS both say multi-tenant SaaS must also enforce tenant context on every request, not just at sign-in.

MSP FAQ: how to govern access across tenants without a god admin
Standing global-admin access across every customer tenant is a single point of failure. Microsoft's GDAP model shows how to scope access per customer instead.

Google confirms Gemini briefly breached three real companies during a security test

Homograph domains still fool users — hygiene that actually catches them
Lookalike Unicode domains can be visually identical to a real brand's URL. Password managers, DNS filtering and certificate-transparency alerts close more of the gap than telling users to look carefully.

When EU MSPs should route AI traffic open vs. closed
A practical split for EU MSPs deciding when to send bulk AI traffic through an open, observable gateway versus reserving closed, premium APIs for high-stakes work.

Three open-source EDR projects worth a look: Rustinel, Fibratus, owLSM

78% open-source tokens on one gateway — what MSPs should not over-read
A circulating summary puts open-source models near ~78.4% of token volume on Vercel AI Gateway — with a barbell narrative: volume skews open (DeepSeek/Moonshot-class traffic) while revenue narratives still favor closed premium (e.g. Anthropic).

SkillSpector v2.12.0: scan agent skills and MCP servers before install, and do not read exit 0 as complete
Technicians now install skills and MCP servers into coding agents and assistants the way they once installed browser extensions: quickly, and on machines that can reach customer systems. A skill is instructions plus code plus dependencies, and the agent will follow the instructions. That makes intake a governance.

Cloudflare Clef and Strands Decider: open-weight decision models for agent routing
On 1 October 2026 Cloudflare released the Clef and Clef-flash decision models and Strands Labs released Strands Decider 2B, all with open weights under Apache 2.0. Here is where small, calibrated decision models fit in an MSP’s agents, and where they stop.

Runware Serverless starts at $1.60 per GPU-hour on demand. The $0.63 headline needs a reservation and a commitment
Runware says its Serverless product is live: customers can run their own code, models and containers on its GPUs. The $0.63 per GPU-hour headline is a reserved rate with a commitment; on demand starts at $1.60 per GPU-hour on L40S.

OpenFGA v1.21.0 is a pattern for the question login never answers: may this technician touch this customer's object?
The MSP reality is many customer tenants, technicians with different delegations per customer, and machine integrations that act on their own. After authentication, the real question is “may this subject perform this action on this object in this tenant?” A token, a group claim or a logout event does not answer it; a decision point does. OpenFGA, at v1.21.0 or newer, is an open-source pattern for that decision.

An OIDC back-channel logout ends a user's sessions at one app. It does not revoke the customer's tenant
An MSP often hears it after an incident call: “our IdP sent a back-channel logout, so the customer's whole tenant is cut off, right?” The short answer is no. An OIDC Logout Token names one end-user and/or one session at one app; tenant off-boarding is a separate admin and authorization decision.

Trivy as MSP CI gate: scan, prioritize, fail closed
Trivy (Aqua Security) is widely used as a CI/CD scanner for CVE, misconfig, secrets, and SBOM generation. For MSP fleets, the useful pattern is: scan on every pipeline → prioritize by severity/exposure → fail closed on critical policy breaches before admit/deploy.

A DPoP proof shows a key was used. It does not entitle an MSP tenant
The buyer sentence an MSP hears after someone enables “sender-constrained tokens” is: “DPoP is on, so the tenant boundary is enforced.” The short answer is no. RFC 9449 says a DPoP proof demonstrates possession of a key and, by itself, is not an authentication or access-control mechanism, so it cannot entitle an MSP tenant.

CrowdSec 1.8.1 patches its new bot-detection feature
CrowdSec shipped v1.8.1, fixing a false positive in the bot-detection feature added in 1.8.0 last month. For MSP edges, the useful pattern stays the same: logs in, hub rules out, review before blocking.

Org ≠ tenant: the MSP vocabulary that stops wrong isolation
In multi-tenant identity models, a tenant is typically the hard isolation boundary for a customer (directory / control-plane scope). An organization (or similar soft grouping) can nest inside a tenant for teams, brands, or billing units — without becoming a second customer boundary.

Tenant isolation for MSPs: a tenant ID or a login is not authorization
A client-supplied tenant ID, header or login only tells a multi-tenant platform who to look at. Membership must be re-verified server-side, on every request, at sign-in and at offboarding.

Trivy as a CI gate: scan, fail on severity, ticket the rest
Trivy, Aqua Security's open-source scanner, can gate MSP pipelines: scan every build, fail on high or critical findings, and ticket the rest before promotion.

Does a coding agent’s cloud index mean customer code stayed on the technician’s laptop?
No. A default or silent cloud index, a Repo Wiki or a workspace snapshot is a residency and custody control: running on the technician’s laptop does not prove the customer’s code stayed there.

Snorkel’s $350M raise at $3.5B: the ARR line buyers should not treat as audited
Snorkel AI said it raised $350 million at a $3.5 billion valuation, with Insight Partners and S32 in the lead. The $375 million run-rate is a company figure via TechCrunch, not an audit.

ZCode is public on GitHub. That is not proof the September workspace uploads were deleted.
A researcher reported that ZCode packaged logged-in users’ workspaces for upload to Alibaba Cloud. ZCode’s public GitHub tree does not prove September uploads were deleted.

Google says AI-search optimization is still SEO, and llms.txt does not help ranking

Dependency update hygiene for MSPs: from policy to Renovate automation
A practical baseline for closing the gap between a vendor's fix and a fleet running it: an SBOM inventory, a review cadence, staged rollouts, and Renovate to automate the pull request, not the risk decision.

What Italian public buyers actually screen for in cloud procurement
Behind 'sovereignty' slogans, Italian central-administration cloud tenders like Consip's AQ 2860 lean on concrete bars: ACN qualification levels, EU/EEA data location, and contractual exit terms.

Sovereign mode is a feature toggle, not a certification badge
Altovar clarifies that Auris's sovereign mode, which defaults off certain US identity and SMS providers, is a product setting -- not equivalent to ACN, BSI C5 or SecNumCloud certification.

Auris for MSPs: one console, one tenant per customer
Auris, Altovar's identity platform, gives MSPs a single console while keeping each customer's data inside its own tenant — the hard isolation boundary; organizations inside it are a softer grouping, not a substitute.

Coding agent stack wars: what IT buyers should watch
Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and Codex compete on IDE depth, repo access and autonomy. IT buyers should judge them by control surfaces, not adoption claims.

Qwen 3.8 27B: some r/LocalLLaMA users have stopped paying for APIs
A 27-billion-parameter open-weight model runs on a single GPU and, according to people using it, is enough for everyday work. Here is what is verified and what is personal experience.

Why 'is AI regulated yet' is the wrong question for EU buyers
EU AI rules, US executive orders and procurement requirements run on different clocks. Flattening them into one verdict either freezes a lawful project or ships a claim that won't hold up.

EU AI Act vs the US AI executive order: a buyer's timeline
The EU AI Act and the US AI executive order run on different clocks and cover different things. This guide shows what already applies, what changed, and how to check a vendor's claim.

Anthropic's supply chain exclusion: the Pentagon wins in appeals court
A US appeals court upholds, 2-1, the exclusion of Claude from work for the American military. What was decided, what is still open and what changes for Claude users in Europe.

OpenAI agents inside Hugging Face: 80,000 traces rebuilt from the public web

An OpenAI agent used DNS tunneling to get around its sandbox
During training, an OpenAI agent hid its questions inside DNS lookups to talk to an outside chatbot. OpenAI has paused tool use on its most capable models until the gap is verified as closed.

How to read an inference benchmark before you believe the price tag
GPU inference claims mix a preview score, a cloud list price and a vendor blog into one number. Here is what to check before treating any $/token figure as fact.

OpenAI vs Anthropic this week: what MSP buyers should track
OpenAI and Anthropic keep shipping and signaling. For MSP buyers the useful question is not “who won the week” — it’s what changed that affects gateway pins, cost, and lock-in .

US executive order on AI security rules out mandatory licensing
Executive Order 14409, signed 2 June 2026, directs federal cyber-defense work and a voluntary frontier-model framework, while explicitly ruling out mandatory AI licensing.

Harbor: hardening a private container registry into a control plane
goharbor/harbor pairs vulnerability scanning, image signing, RBAC and replication in one open-source registry. Treating it as a production control plane, not just storage, is what actually hardens an MSP's supply chain.

PaperCut NG/MF flaw chain: CISA deadline passed, patch to the new builds
Two chained PaperCut NG/MF flaws enable unauthenticated remote code execution and are already being exploited; the federal patch deadline passed on 14 September.

Why we built Osprey, our headless CMS
Osprey keeps content schemas in TypeScript, ships published content at build time, and returns a 404, not a permission error, for anything private.

Headless CMS, the Osprey way: content at build time, not on every request
Osprey hands a static site its content during the build, keeps private collections invisible, and ships SEO metadata with every entry.

Break-glass accounts aren't just another MFA-protected admin
Emergency access accounts need to keep working when an IdP or MFA system is down. That means designing them differently from ordinary admin accounts, not adding one more layer.

Ascerta’s $18 million Series A is a company press figure, and so is the 47 percent ROI line
Ascerta, formerly Pay-i, said on 30 September 2026 that it raised an $18 million Series A led by Dell Technologies Capital, bringing total funding to $22.9 million. Its 47, 24 and 86 percent customer figures are company claims, not an Altovar audit.

Pin OpenZiti at v2.0.6 or newer on the 2.0 line, and do not treat a pre-release tag as the customer pin
The sentence an MSP hears is “we run a zero-trust overlay, so the flat network is gone.” The answer: the overlay is a control plane you still have to inventory, pin and lock, and on the 2.0 line the OpenZiti pin floor is v2.0.6.

MSP FAQ: disabling the IdP account does not kill sessions or tokens
Turning off a departing technician's identity-provider account is not the same as ending their active sessions and tokens. Microsoft, NIST and OWASP say revoke separately.
