WHY ALTOVAR CLOUD

Infrastructure that stays in Europe.

Every byte of data processed on Altovar Cloud infrastructure remains within the European Union. Our datacentres are located in Germany and Finland — jurisdictions with strong rule-of-law and no US Cloud Act exposure.

We do not route traffic through US-controlled networks, do not use US-based CDN providers as upstreams, and do not depend on American hyperscalers for any part of our critical path. This is an architectural commitment, not a policy statement.

Altovar is incorporated under Italian law. Data requests from non-EU authorities must pass through formal rogatory channels — a slow, public, and contestable process.

SERVICE CATEGORIES
COMPUTE

Shared Hosting and VPS — from entry-level shared hosting to high-performance KVM instances with full root access and NVMe SSD.

NETWORKING

Load Balancer and managed TLS certificates — EU-hosted networking with no US transit dependencies.

STORAGE & DATA

Object Storage and Block Storage — GDPR compliant, EU-hosted, with enforced data residency.

COMMUNICATIONS

Business Mailboxes with custom domain, IMAP/SMTP, CalDAV/CardDAV. An alternative to US-controlled email infrastructure.

No US Cloud Act exposure

The US CLOUD Act (2018) allows American authorities to compel US-incorporated cloud providers to produce data regardless of where that data physically resides. Altovar is incorporated in Italy — no US nexus, no compellability under US law.

GDPR by architecture

Data residency is enforced at the infrastructure layer — not by contract. Your data cannot leave EU jurisdiction through misconfiguration, operator error, or legal pressure. The infrastructure physically does not route outside EU borders.

Transparent pricing

No egress fees that appear after the first invoice. No hidden costs for bandwidth between services in the same region. Published pricing in EUR, billed monthly with no lock-in contracts unless you choose a committed-use discount.

NIS2 and DORA ready

Altovar Cloud services are designed to support NIS2 Article 21 technical security requirements and DORA ICT risk management obligations. Audit logs, access controls, and incident response tooling are built in — not add-ons.

German and Finnish infrastructure

Primary datacentres are located in Frankfurt, Germany (DE-CIX interconnected) and Helsinki, Finland. Both jurisdictions offer strong legal protections, reliable power grids, and favourable climatic conditions for thermal management.

Single-vendor simplicity

One provider, one invoice, one support contract. Compute, networking, and storage are interconnected — no bandwidth charges between Altovar services in the same region. One SLA covering your entire infrastructure layer.
