A sale at the counter is three facts at once: money in the drawer, a piece off the shelf, a line in the VAT register. Equinox writes all three from the same act — and the dealer who buys twenty gets the price their list says, not the one someone remembered.

Measured, not promised
Payment methods
6 per line cash, card, wallet, gift card, cheque, on account — and the sum of the payments must equal the total of the sale, or the till refuses it.
Session close
Counted against expected the expected closing balance is the opening float plus the cash sales of the session; what you counted, minus that, is the variance — written down, not argued about.
Price lists
Per customer, per quantity a list applies to a customer or a customer group, inside a validity window, with a priority; each product can carry tiers — one price from ten pieces, another from fifty.
Barcodes
EAN-13, in-store range generated in the GS1 20-29 range reserved for in-store use, with a real check digit, and readable by the camera scanner in the browser.
A sale, start to finish

One article, five moments, three books.

Scroll through a demo sale. Change the quantity: the total, the stock left and the reorder verdict follow the product’s own rules — the threshold, the reorder quantity, the VAT split.

  1. One article, more than one price

    The bistro chair has a list price for the counter and a dealer list with tiers: one price from ten pieces, another from fifty. Which price applies is a question the price list answers, per customer and per date.

  2. The sale, at the till

    The article goes into the cart — picked from the grid or read by the camera. The line carries its VAT rate; the total is net plus tax, to the cent.

  3. Paid, printed, recorded

    Card, cash, a gift card off its balance, a coupon that needs a minimum order, or on account for the dealer who settles monthly. The receipt prints on the network printer; the sale is in the session totals immediately.

  4. The stock knows

    The piece leaves the warehouse the sale was made from. If what remains is under the reorder point, the article appears in the reorder list, sized on its reorder quantity and ordered by urgency.

  5. The day, in the VAT register

    The session closes with the cash counted against the expected balance. Every completed sale of the day is already a receipt in the takings and a line in the sales VAT register — once, and only once.

What is not here, on purpose: price lists are a lookup you consult, not a rule that rewrites the lines of a quote or an invoice on its own; there are no connectors to external online shops and no public storefront; the till prints on network printers and its fiscalisation goes through a transmission provider you enable, not a recorder in the box.
