Equinox keeps the chain intact — the hour is logged billable on its project, the invoice is generated from the unbilled ones, and the bank tells you when it was actually paid.

Billable, at a rate each entry carries the date, the hours, whether it is billable and at what rate. The demo project: 44.5 billable hours, 2,002.50 € not yet invoiced.
Approvals
Routed by amount a workflow is chosen by the amount of the document — one step under the threshold, two above it — with sequential steps, delegation for holidays and an escalation clock.
The invoice
Made of the unbilled hours billable hours not yet invoiced are grouped per project and client and become an invoice through the same document engine as everything else.

    The project holds its tasks with states, priorities and due dates; the milestones sit on a roadmap that spans every project. Notes and action items live next to them.

    Each entry has a date, its hours, a billable flag and a rate. What is not billable is still recorded — it is the difference between what the work cost and what it earned.

  3. An expense, through approval

    The travel expense goes into an approval workflow chosen by its amount. It waits at its step; whoever is away has delegated their approvals for the fortnight. The trail stays on the record.

  4. The invoice, from the timesheet

    The unbilled billable hours are grouped per project and client and become an invoice: same engine, same numbering, e-invoicing through the exchange system for whoever needs it.

  5. The bank confirms it

    You record the deadline the invoice carries. When the money lands, the bank import scores the movement against the open invoices and, above the confidence threshold, reconciles it on its own. Marking the deadline paid stays your click — nothing is closed behind your back.

What is not here, on purpose: an expense or an order does not enter an approval by itself — someone submits it; a step marked "everyone must approve" is stored but the engine advances on the first approval; the archive searches names and descriptions, not the text inside the files, and its links are for people inside the workspace, not public.
