What can the document assistant help with?

Ask questions about the open PDF, summarize pages, extract structured data, translate passages and review clearer wording. The desktop assistant can also find and highlight text, propose signature fields and compare with a file you choose. Review its answers against the original document.

What is Sigil?

Sigil is Altovar’s PDF editing, annotation, document management and electronic-signature platform. The desktop app focuses on working with PDFs; the web app connects cloud documents and signature workflows.

Can I work with local documents?

Yes. The desktop application works with local PDF files. Cloud signature workflows and AI assistance require a connection and the relevant account access.

How do signature requests work?

Create a request for a stored document, add your signers and choose parallel or sequential signing. Signers receive an email invitation and open a browser signing page. The workspace records request status and audit events.

What do I need for AI assistance?

Sign in with an authorized account. Your organization must grant the required AI permission and have available balance in its AI wallet. AI usage is separate from simply opening a local PDF.

Can we integrate Sigil with our application?

Sigil offers a public API and the @altovar-systems/sigil-sdk package for JavaScript and TypeScript. Contact Altovar to discuss access and your integration requirements.
